Quotes - Stream of Consciousness

Self-preservation.
The most basic instinct and our justification.
"All that is necessary for Evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
Which begs the question: What is good and evil and who or what defines them?
Martin Niemoeller had it right; if one fulfills the role of seer
the time will come when everyone else will follow
and no one will be left to defend you.
If good men do nothing, who is left?
If good men do nothing, does that make them evil?
Are they evil, or are they human?
Neither one will ever triumph as it is not possible 'till we reach end times.
Both must be present for the other to exist because
if the good fall and all that is left is evil, is it evil?
What distinguishes that "evil" from "good" if all there is is "evil".
These words - Good and Evil - are ideas; beliefs, and who defines them?
The last man standing... the man with the biggest guns.
When the "evil" do triumph, they will soon face a new evil; another enemy.
Such is the theory of super-imposed opposites.
So since "evil" will never triumph, it is true that "good" will never triumph.
If either do, it's neither one, and then it will not matter.
When the end times have come to pass, and humanity's final chapter's written,
who will be it's author? And which word will he use to describe our ending?
- Does it really matter? -

Freedom of Speech - Westboro Baptist Church Response.

After watching the videos documenting the Westboro Baptist Church posted on the Civil Liberties Lab, I was extremely disturbed by what I saw. From what was shown on these video clips, it seems that this family’s morals and ethics are majorly corrupted, and I personally believe that their beliefs are very, very wrong. However, this is only my opinion and I am entitled to have it, I am also entitled with the right to voice my opinion how I please. Under the First Amendment I am granted the freedom to have these opinions and to be able to disagree with the beliefs of this one family, as they have the freedom to disagree with my beliefs and opinions. If I wanted to preach to the public in a peaceful way about my beliefs I should be able to do that. Of course I don’t think that protesting right next to a burial ceremony is respectful or tasteful, and I do think that there should be some kind of restriction against that. To me it just seems downright disrespectful especially since the people this family seems to protest against are people who fight to give us the freedoms to be able to protest. But a peaceful expression of your beliefs is what makes America, America. So even though I don’t necessarily believe what this family is trying to teach American citizens, I do respect their right to go around trying to teach it.
